Timeline: from visa approval to your first week
Visa approved: order the kit (2 to 8 weeks before you fly)
Choose the Arrive Connected kit for your destination, enter your passport details and travel date, add a consultant code if you have one for 10% off. Pay by UPI or card.
Within 48 hours: your local number is assigned
We email your local number, the eSIM QR code and a one-page setup sheet. The number is yours from this point; give it to your university and bank.
One week before departure: install on Wi-Fi
Scan the QR on your phone at home. Takes two minutes. The data plan stays dormant until the eSIM first connects abroad, so nothing is used in India.
Departure day: switch it on at the gate
Turn on the Universal eSIM line and data roaming for that line only. Local networks connect automatically on landing and your 30 days start then.
Day 25: choose how to continue
Renew the monthly plan in the app, or take the hand-off to a local carrier partner. Your number stays the same either way.

What exactly arrives when I order Arrive Connected?
Within 48 hours you receive one email and one WhatsApp message containing: your local number, the eSIM QR code, a PDF setup sheet with your country's first-week checklist, and your account login. Students who choose the physical SIM receive the same by post in 1 to 3 days inside India. Nothing is shipped for eSIM orders; there is no box.
Is Arrive Connected an eSIM or a physical SIM?
Either. The default is an eSIM delivered by QR code. If your phone has no eSIM, or you want a physical card as a backup, choose physical at checkout; it is posted to an Indian address within 1 to 3 days, with KYC completed online. The number and plan are identical.
How is the local number issued before I leave India?
Our carrier partners in each country allocate numbers to us in advance. When you order, we assign one to you, register it in your name where the country requires identity registration, and activate it on the partner network. Calls and texts to the number work from the moment it is assigned; data starts when the eSIM first connects abroad.
Can I receive SMS on the local number while still in India?
Yes, once the eSIM is installed and the line is switched on. Inbound SMS while in India is carried as roaming on the partner network and is included; outbound calls and data in India are not included and roaming for that line should stay off until departure. This is how you verify a bank or university account from home.
How long does the 30-day starter last and when does it start?
Thirty days from the first time the eSIM connects to a network in the destination. Buying four weeks early costs nothing extra; the clock does not start in India.
What happens on day 30?
Nothing automatic. From day 25 the app offers two choices: renew the monthly continuation (₹1,699 to ₹2,499 depending on country) or hand off to a local carrier partner. We remind you on days 25 and 29. If you do nothing, data stops on day 30 and the number is held for 90 days.
Can I change my travel date after ordering?
Yes, without charge. The data plan starts on first connection, so a delayed flight changes nothing. If your visa is refused, we refund in full before the number is assigned and minus ₹499 after; see the refund policy.
Can a parent order the kit for me?
Yes. The parent pays and enters the student's passport details, email and WhatsApp number. The kit, the login and all reminders go to the student. Parents can add the parent calling pack to the same order.
Which countries is Arrive Connected available for?
Nine at launch: USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, Ireland, France, New Zealand, UAE. Starter kits cost ₹2,999 to ₹3,999. More countries are added as we sign carrier partners.
