What is a travel eSIM and how is it different from roaming?
A travel eSIM is a digital SIM profile you install by scanning a QR code. It connects your phone to a local partner network in the destination at local wholesale rates, so a week's plan often costs less than a UK network's daily roaming charges, which are typically £2 to £2.75 a day in Europe and £3 to £7 a day elsewhere. Your physical SIM stays in the phone for calls and bank codes; the eSIM handles data.
Does my phone support eSIM?
Most phones sold since 2020 do: iPhone XS and newer, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, and many OnePlus, Motorola and Xiaomi models. Some regional variants and budget models do not. Dial *#06#: if an EID number appears, the hardware supports eSIM. The phone must also be carrier-unlocked. Use the compatibility checker for a definite answer.
Is hotspot really allowed on every plan?
Yes. Every Universal eSIMs plan allows hotspot and tethering with no separate cap beyond the plan's own data. Unlimited plans give full speed for the first 2GB each day and 3 Mbps after that. Many competitors restrict or block hotspot on unlimited plans; we do not.
When does the validity start?
When the eSIM first connects to a network in the destination, not when you buy or install it. You can buy weeks ahead and install at home on Wi-Fi.

What if it does not work?
