SIM cards for security cameras: 4G and 5G data from US$0.004 per MB
High-throughput pooled data for 4G and 5G cameras, construction site towers, dashcams and body-worn video. Static IP for remote viewing, usage alerts before the bill surprises you.
Security cameras connectivity at a glance
Universal eSIMs supplies SIM card for security camerass on 600+ networks in 180+ countries for US$1.00 per active SIM per month plus US$0.004 per MB pooled on IoT Go, or US$0.60 and US$0.0025 on IoT Scale from 1,000 SIMs. 100 cameras at 2GB each on IoT Go cost US$900 a month, US$9.000 per device, with inactive SIMs free.

The problem
Cameras are the hungriest device on any IoT bill. A single camera streaming continuously can use 100GB in a month, and a camera that uploads only on motion can use 1GB or 30GB depending on how busy the site is. Installers need pooled data so quiet cameras offset busy ones, alerts that fire before the budget is gone, and a static IP option so clients can view feeds without a cloud relay.

Get startedHow to deploy SIM card for security camerass in 4 steps
Test with the trial kit
5 SIMs with 100MB each, 30 days, shipped in 3 to 7 working days. Fit them in your 4g bullet and dome cameras and check attach, signal and steering at real sites.
Order from 1 SIM
No minimum on IoT Go at US$1.00 per active SIM plus US$0.004 per MB. Choose 2FF, 3FF, 4FF or MFF2. API keys are issued instantly.
Configure for the use case
Pooled data with per-camera and per-account alerts and optional auto-suspend. Private APN and static IP on IoT Scale from US$250 setup. Register a webhook so alerts reach your own platform.
Scale on published rates
At 1,000 active SIMs the rate drops automatically to US$0.6 and US$0.0025. Above 10,000, IoT Enterprise adds an SLA and a dedicated manager.

Security and compliance commitments
Security cameras: questions engineers and procurement ask
How much data does a 4G security camera use?
A 1080p camera recording to the cloud at 2 Mbps continuously uses about 650GB a month, which is not practical on any IoT tariff. Event-triggered upload of 20-second clips at a moderately busy site uses 1GB to 5GB. Local recording with occasional remote viewing uses 500MB to 2GB. Size the plan around clips, not streams.
What do 100 cameras cost per month?
On IoT Go, 100 cameras at 2GB (2,000MB) each cost 100 × US$1.00 + 200,000MB × US$0.004 = US$900 a month, or US$9.00 per camera. Data is pooled, so a quiet car park camera at 300MB offsets a busy gate camera at 6GB.
Can clients view the camera directly without a cloud service?
Yes, on IoT Scale with private APN and static IP. Each camera gets a fixed private address reachable through your IPsec VPN. We do not offer public static IPs because exposed cameras are a security liability. Setup is from US$250 one-off.
Is 5G available for site camera towers?
Yes, where the partner network offers 5G and the router supports it. 5G mainly helps uplink capacity for towers with 4 to 8 cameras. Most single cameras are well served by 4G LTE Cat-4. Coverage by technology is in the coverage API.
How do I stop one camera using the whole data pool?
Set a per-SIM threshold, for example 5GB, with auto-suspend. The camera stops sending, you receive an email and a sim.usage_threshold webhook, and you resume it with one call once you have changed its recording settings. Account-level alerts at 50%, 80% and 100% of your expected pool are on by default.
Do temporary construction site cameras need a local profile?
Usually not. Site towers move every few months, which keeps them below the permanent roaming thresholds in most countries. For permanent perimeter cameras in India, the Gulf, Turkey or Brazil we provision a local profile.
How does the free trial kit work?
Request it with a company address and use case. We verify the address, then ship 5 SIMs with 100MB each, valid 30 days, from India and the EU in 3 to 7 working days. You get console and API access on the day you request it, so you can start in the sandbox before the SIMs arrive.
Is there a minimum order or contract?
No. Order 1 SIM online on IoT Go at US$1.00 per active SIM per month with no contract. IoT Scale from 1,000 SIMs has an optional 12-month term that takes a further 10% off the SIM fee. IoT Enterprise above 10,000 SIMs is negotiated.
How quickly can I get API access?
Immediately. API keys are issued when you create an account. The REST API uses JSON, we publish a Postman collection, and there are snippets in Python, Node.js and cURL. A sandbox with simulated SIMs lets you test activation, usage and webhooks without hardware.
