To top up a Universal eSIMs plan, open the app or your account, select the installed eSIM, choose a top-up and pay. Data is added to the same eSIM within 1 minute with no new QR code. Top-ups stay available for 30 days after expiry and use the same price ladder as new plans, from ₹249 for 1GB.

Step by step
Open My eSIMs
In the app or at universalesims.com/account/. Each installed eSIM shows remaining data and days.
Choose Top up
Pick a data pack or an unlimited extension. Top-ups for a destination use the same price ladder as new plans.
Pay
UPI, card, net banking, Apple Pay, Google Pay or PayPal. A GST invoice is emailed.
Keep using the same line
The balance updates within a minute. No reinstall, no settings change. If the plan had expired, the line reconnects on its own.
What a top-up does to validity
Auto top-up
Turn on auto top-up in the app to add a chosen pack when the balance falls below 200MB. You receive a notification before and after. Turn it off at any time.
Low balance alerts
The app and email notify you at 80 percent used and at 100MB remaining. Check the balance any time in My eSIMs; see how to check data balance.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a new QR code to top up?
No. Top-ups are applied to the installed eSIM remotely within a minute.
Can I top up with a different plan size?
Yes. Any size on the destination ladder can be added, including unlimited extensions.
Is a top-up cheaper than a new plan?
Same price ladder, but you save the reinstall and the plan validity extends rather than restarting.
Can someone else top up for me?
Yes. Family in India can pay for a top-up from their own account by entering your eSIM ICCID, shown in My eSIMs. Useful for students and parents.
Can I top up a regional plan with a country pack?
No. Top-ups match the plan type. Regional plans take regional packs.
What if the top-up does not appear?
Cycle Airplane mode to force a balance refresh. If it is still missing after 10 minutes, message WhatsApp support with the order number.
