How much does international roaming cost from India?
As of October 2026, roughly ₹575 to ₹1,101 a day for 0.5 to 1GB with calls, about ₹2,999 for a 10-day pack with 5GB, and ₹3,999 to ₹5,999 for 30-day packs with 10 to 15GB. Pay-as-you-go per-MB rates are far higher. Check your operator for the exact figure.
Will I still receive OTPs if I use an eSIM?
Yes, as long as your Indian SIM stays in the phone and switched on. Incoming SMS is free on most Indian operators while roaming; outgoing SMS and calls without a pack are charged.
Does keeping my Indian SIM on cost money abroad?
Not by itself. Charges arise only if you make calls, send SMS or leave data roaming on for that SIM. Turn data roaming off on the Indian SIM and leave it on only for the eSIM.
Is roaming ever the better option?
For a one-day trip where you need calls on your own number, a single daily pack can be simpler. For two days or more, the eSIM is cheaper.
Can I make calls with the eSIM?

What about the UAE, where VoIP is restricted?
