The problem
A card terminal that cannot reach the acquirer loses the sale. Terminals live in markets, delivery vans, basements and malls, often on the weakest network at that spot, and they are the most stolen IoT SIM there is: a SIM pulled from a terminal and used in a phone can run up a bill in hours. Payment providers need multi-network coverage, tight controls on what a SIM can do, and a price per terminal that works at thin merchant margins.

Get startedHow to deploy POS SIM cards in 4 steps
Test with the trial kit
5 SIMs with 100MB each, 30 days, shipped in 3 to 7 working days. Fit them in your countertop and mobile card terminals and check attach, signal and steering at real sites.
Order from 1 SIM
No minimum on IoT Go at US$1.00 per active SIM plus US$0.004 per MB. Choose 2FF, 3FF, 4FF or MFF2. API keys are issued instantly.
Configure for the use case
IMEI lock plus data-only, APN-restricted profiles with no voice. Indian local profile on every SIM at launch. Register a webhook so alerts reach your own platform.
Scale on published rates
At 1,000 active SIMs the rate drops automatically to US$0.6 and US$0.0025. Above 10,000, IoT Enterprise adds an SLA and a dedicated manager.

POS and payments: questions engineers and procurement ask
How much data does a card terminal use?
A classic terminal uses 1KB to 5KB per transaction, so 500 transactions a month is under 3MB plus TLS overhead and settlement, typically 10MB to 20MB. Android smart POS with app updates and receipt images uses 50MB to 200MB. UPI soundboxes use 5MB to 15MB.
What do 300 terminals cost per month?
On IoT Go, 300 terminals at 30MB each cost 300 × US$1.00 + 9,000MB × US$0.004 = US$336 a month, or US$1.12 per terminal. Terminals returned by merchants can be suspended and cost nothing until reissued.
How do you stop a stolen POS SIM being used in a phone?
Three controls. IMEI lock stops data within 60 seconds if the SIM moves to another device. The profile is data-only with no voice or premium SMS. An APN restriction and optional private APN mean the SIM can only reach your acquirer endpoints. Usage alerts catch anything that slips through.
Does using your SIM affect our PCI DSS scope?
The cellular link is normally treated as an untrusted public network under PCI DSS, so your terminal must encrypt card data end to end regardless of the SIM. A private APN with IPsec can reduce exposure but does not remove the requirement. We do not process or store cardholder data.
What happens if the local network goes down during a busy day?
The multi-IMSI SIM re-attaches to another partner network at the same location, usually within a minute. Terminals with store-and-forward keep taking offline transactions in the meantime. Diagnostics show which network each terminal used and when.
Can I order 10 SIMs for a pilot before committing?
Yes. The free trial kit gives you 5 SIMs with 100MB each for 30 days, and you can order from 1 SIM online on IoT Go at US$1.00 per active SIM per month. There is no minimum and no contract.
How does the free trial kit work?
Request it with a company address and use case. We verify the address, then ship 5 SIMs with 100MB each, valid 30 days, from India and the EU in 3 to 7 working days. You get console and API access on the day you request it, so you can start in the sandbox before the SIMs arrive.
Is there a minimum order or contract?
No. Order 1 SIM online on IoT Go at US$1.00 per active SIM per month with no contract. IoT Scale from 1,000 SIMs has an optional 12-month term that takes a further 10% off the SIM fee. IoT Enterprise above 10,000 SIMs is negotiated.
How quickly can I get API access?
Immediately. API keys are issued when you create an account. The REST API uses JSON, we publish a Postman collection, and there are snippets in Python, Node.js and cURL. A sandbox with simulated SIMs lets you test activation, usage and webhooks without hardware.
