Travel eSIM questions

Which eSIM should I buy: single-country, regional or global?

One country for up to 30 days: the single-country plan is cheapest per GB. Two or more countries in one region: the regional plan shares one data balance across the region and usually beats two single plans. Countries in different regions, or an itinerary that may change: the Global eSIM covers 130+ countries. Several short trips a year: World Wallet 365.

How much data do I need for a trip?

Most travellers use 300 to 700MB a day for maps, messaging, social media and a few video calls. 5GB covers a week, 10GB covers two weeks, and heavy video uploaders or anyone sharing a hotspot should choose 20GB or Unlimited. The data calculator gives a personal estimate.

Do travel eSIMs include a phone number?

The plans on this site are data-only, which is what most travellers need: WhatsApp, maps and apps work over data and your home SIM keeps receiving calls and OTPs. If you need a local number for a longer stay, see the student SIM or the physical travel SIM.

Can I install the eSIM before my trip?

Yes, and you should. Install on home Wi-Fi; the plan activates only when it first connects to a network in the destination. There is no expiry between purchase and first use for 180 days.

Can I use one eSIM on several trips?

A plan runs from first connection until its validity ends. For repeat trips, buy a new plan to the same eSIM profile or use World Wallet 365, which stays valid for a year. You never need to delete and reinstall between trips to the same destination.

Which networks will I connect to?

Each destination page lists the partner networks, for example T-Mobile and AT&T in the USA, EE, Vodafone and O2 in the UK, AIS and True in Thailand, and Etisalat and du in the UAE. Your phone selects the strongest signal automatically.

Is 5G included?

Yes, wherever the partner network offers 5G and your phone supports it. No plan charges extra for 5G.

What payment methods do you accept?

UPI, RuPay, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, net banking, Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal. Indian customers receive a GST invoice. Prices can be shown in INR, USD, EUR, GBP or AED.
