An EID (eUICC Identifier) is a 32-digit number unique to the embedded SIM chip in a phone, tablet or laptop. If a device has an EID, it has eSIM hardware. Find it by dialling *#06#, or in Settings, General, About on iPhone and Settings, About phone, Status on Android.

Is it safe to share?

The EID alone cannot be used to access your plans or number. Share it with the provider you are buying from and nobody else; some operators use EID allow-lists, so an unknown party with your EID could cause mild nuisance but not theft.

Frequently asked questions

No EID appears when I dial *#06#. What does that mean?

The phone has no eSIM chip. Order a physical travel SIM instead.

Does an EID mean every eSIM will work?

It confirms hardware. The phone must also be carrier-unlocked and some regional firmware hides the eSIM menu; check the compatibility checker.

Why does support ask for my EID?

To check whether a profile was downloaded to your device, and to issue a replacement bound to the right phone.

Is the EID the same as the eSIM number?

No. The eSIM profile has an ICCID; the chip has an EID. One chip holds many profiles.

Do dual-eSIM phones have two EIDs?

No, one EID per chip, which holds several profiles.

Can the EID change?

Only if the phone's mainboard is replaced in repair.
